Robinhood tennis retirement and disqualification rules

There is no Robinhood house rule to quote. Settlement terms are written per contract and genuinely differ between contracts listed in the same week.

Their published rule does not name disqualification. The answer above is how they settle one in practice, from our own trading experience rather than a clause we can quote.

The rule, in their words

“If a player withdraws or forfeits after a match has started, that player will resolve to No.”

Read and verified on Robinhood’s own published rules, 2026-10-05. Operators change these without notice, so we re-read them each time this page is updated.

Walkovers

“If the match does not occur (signaled by a ball being played) due to a player injury, walkover, forfeiture, or any other cancellation (all before the match starts), all markets will resolve to $0.50.”

Other markets

Tennis contracts are listed through KalshiEX, so games-count and set markets fall under Kalshi's contract terms rather than anything Robinhood publishes.

Worth knowing

Of three match-winner contracts read the same day, two carried the clause above and a $0.50 non-start rule; a third carried neither, resolving a non-start to "a fair price in accordance with the rules". So check the contract in front of you. They never say "disqualification" either - the wording is "withdraws or forfeits" - but a defaulted player resolves to No.

Common questions

What is Robinhood's tennis retirement rule?

There isn't one. Settlement is written into each contract and the wording varies between contracts offered at the same time - some say a player withdrawing after the start resolves to No, others are silent.

Does Robinhood resolve tennis walkovers at 50 cents?

On some contracts. Those carrying the clause resolve all markets to $0.50 when the match never starts. Others resolve to "a fair price in accordance with the rules", which is not a fixed number.

What happens on Robinhood if a tennis player is disqualified?

The player who advances is paid and the disqualified player resolves to No. Their contracts never use the word - they say "withdraws or forfeits" - so this is practice rather than a clause we can quote.
